Die Publikation präsentiert alle 68 Bilder von Death, der jüngsten Fotoserie von Ahlam Shibli (*1970). Sie handelt von der Darstellung der Palästinenser, die während der zweiten Intifada ihr Leben verloren haben. Plakate an den Wänden von Häusern und Läden, Fotos in Wohnzimmern oder auf dem Mobiltelefon und mit Bildern und Inschriften geschmückte Gräber stellen die imaginäre Anwesenheit der Männer und Frauen sicher, die von der palästinensischen Gesellschaft als Nationalhelden verehrt werden. Shiblis Fotos zeigen, wie die Lebenden mit der ständig präsenten Abwesenheit der Toten umgehen.Der Band enthält außerdem Abbildungen aus Shiblis Serien Trauma, Trackers und Goter und anderen wichtigen Fotoarbeiten sowie einen Essay des Anthropologen Esmail Nashif zum Stellenwert des Todes in der palästinensischen Gesellschaft seit 1948 sowie eine kritische Würdigung von Shiblis Gesamtwerk von T J Demos.

So comfy and just the right size
These are the cutest most versatile socks. The weave is just right, not too thick or thin. They don't fall or shift down your heel while walking in shoes. They launder exceptionally well. The height on the ankle is perfect for jeans, business casual pants or a quick change into gym clothes. I need more.

Cute and comfortable
This six-pack of ankle socks is a great value. All of the colors are useful to me and go well with a variety of clothes. The ruffle around the top and the nice detailed knit pattern make them very cute! The fabric is stretchy and comfortable. Mostly cotton, they did seem to shrink a little bit in the wash (I machine-washed in cold water and tumbled dry on low) but they are stretchy enough that they still fit my size 8 feet just fine. See photo, brown are new, blue have gone through the wash.
