Krauss findet seine Modelle in der eigenen Familie und auf Reisen in den typischen Kindheitsinstitutionen des ehemaligen Ostblocks, in Ferienlagern, Pionierpalästen und Waisenhäusern. Ingar Krauss zieht seine großformatigen Schwarzweißprints auf altes, aus Ostbeständen stammendes Fotopapier ab und erreicht so eine zeitlos melancholische Tonigkeit. Der Künstler erhielt 2004 in Vevey den Leica Preis des Grand Prix International de Photographie und hat seine Arbeiten bereits auf einer Vielzahl von Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen im In- und Ausland vorgestellt.
