Cherry Audio 에서 Dreamsynth DS-1 라는 가상악기를 발표하였습니다.
1980 년대를 회상하게 하는 hybrid analogue/digital synth 개념으로 새로운 신스 가상악기를 발표하였습니다.
1980 년대는 순수 아날로그 신스에서 점점 디지틀 신디사이져 제품이 나오기 시작하여 혼재된 세상이었습니다.
그동안 Cherry Audio 는 매우 저렴한 가격에 유명한 아날로그 신스의 복각 플러그인화를 많이 해온 회사입니다.
그런데 이번 Dreamsynth DS-1 는 복각이 아니라 Cherry Audio 사의 독자적인 최초의 자체개발 신스입니다.
아날로그와 디지틀 방식에서 오는 갭을 매꾼 하이브리드 방식의 신스입니다.
그래서 virtual analog tone 과 PCM sample 을 함께 사용하고 12-stage phaser, multiple distortion, chorus, flanger, rotary speaker effect 등의 다양한 이펙터를 자체 내장하고 있습니다. 이 소프트신스는 오리지널 Ensoniq ESQ-1, Kawai "K" series, 그리고 Sequential Prophet VS 같은 1980년대 유명한 신스의 영향을 많이 받은 제품이라고 개발사인 Cherry Audio 에서 이야기 하고 있습니다.
버츄얼 아날로그 오실레이터에 PCM sample 를 사용하면서, Oberheim-style 필터거는 식으로 아날로그와 디지틀의 기술을 동시에 사용하는 hybrid analogue/digital synth 인 제품입니다. 즉 아날로그의 장점과 디지틀의 장점을 모두 활용하는 신스 입니다. 자체적으로 1,100 가지나 되는 프리셋을 탑재하고 있습니다. 모듈레이션 방식도 강력해서 20 mod source 와 40 destination 을 지원하기 때문에 실로 방대한 모듈레이션이 가능합니다. 이 신스에는 solid library 로 430 looping, one-shot, and single-cycle PCM waveform 이 포함되어 있으며 오실레이터는 최대 16 voice polyphony 를 지원합니다.

- 방대한 모듈레이션 능력 : 20 mod source 와 40 destination 을 조합하여 방대하고 복잡한 모듈레이션이 가능합니다.
