We were asked quite a few years ago to make one by a regular visitor and finally, after many observations, drawings and tweaks we have created a large and a small version. This is no ordinary bee – this is a Scilly Bee!

There is a unique species of bee here in the Isles of Scilly, known as the Scilly Bee. We were asked quite a few years ago to make one by a regular visitor and finally, after many observations, drawings and tweaks we have created a large and a small version. It has our classic oxidised stripy body and a sand frosted finish to make it look ‘fluffy’, we really like it here in the workshop and we hope you do too.

We will be donating some of the profits of each bee to a wild flower meadow project, the details of which are not quite finalised but the sale of each bee will go towards preserving their habitat here on the island. Rob started work on this this beauty on Boxing Day and we finished it at the end of February, it has been quite a project but one we are very proud of!

Each large bee is 2 cm long and has a 3 cm wide wingspan.

Each large bee charm weighs 6.7 grams and is hallmarked.
