The album, “A Kind of Magic”, which was produced to an enthusiastic reception at the legendary Live Aid, overcame the crisis of the band's survival, including a solo career, and also served as the soundtrack to the movie “Highlander”, and produced many hit singles, reaching number one in the UK and eventually leading to the band's last major tour. It was also the last major tour of the late Queen's career.
CD1 features the latest remixes and remasters of all the songs on the album, as well as single versions and songs not included on the album. CD2 features extended versions from the album and rare demos and remixes from the production process. CD2 contains extended versions of songs from the “alternate” album. CD2 contains extended versions of songs such as “Friends Will Be Friends,” some of which were only available in analog form. Also of note are rare early versions of “Principles of the Universe” and “One Year of Love,” as well as previously unreleased demo recordings of “Battle Scene,” “Butterfly,” and “Liv Forever. The DVDs have been expanded to two discs, with DVD1 being an “audio album” as before, featuring lyric videos with real-time lyrics for all songs and multi-audio selections, including remastered stereo, 5.1 surround mixes, and instrumental tracks.
