HLG-HDR video
HERO13 Black takes its best-in-class image quality to the next level with the option to record in Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG), a standard HDR format that the pros use to capture 5.3K and 4K video in the 10-bit and Rec. 2100 color space. This advanced feature requires a compatible display and media player for playback. Users can still capture video using HDR without HLG for viewing on standard displays and media players.

Widescreen, vertical + full screen capture
HERO13 Black’s powerful 1/1.9” image sensor lets you do more. Choose widescreen capture (16:9 aspect ratio) for full-screen playback on a TV or vertical videos (9:16 aspect ratio) for social media posting. For maximum versatility, the full frame option (8:7 aspect ratio) captures a 156° field of view that lets you crop in to create widescreen and vertical shots later.

10-bit color + log encoding
HERO13 Black lets you choose between capturing standard video at 10-bit or Log encoding at 10-bit with GP-Log. Capable of displaying over 1 billion colors, 10-bit color delivers enhanced color depth, smoother gradations and more realism in your videos. Advanced users can use GP-Log to get more detail in their footage while making necessary image corrections in post-production (a lookup table/LUT is provided).

Timecode sync
Advanced users with more than one HERO13 Black can sync them with the exact same timecode to make multi-camera editing a lot easier. It works with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere and other editing software to further streamline post-production.

27MP photos + 24.7MP frame grabs
HERO13 Black takes 27MP Single, Interval, Burst and Night photos that let you capture standard, fast action and low-light shots. You can also grab stunning photos up to 24.7MP of your favorite shots from your videos using the GoPro Quik app.

Bluetooth audio connectivity
Bluetooth audio lets you wirelessly connect HERO13 Black to compatible devices. Use a wireless microphone for enhanced audio when narrating a scene or conducting interviews. By connecting to your wireless earbuds, your GoPro will be able to hear your voice commands in noisy settings or when it’s mounted out of earshot.
