An acronym for "Phenethylamines I Have Known and Loved", the book spans autobiography, organic chemistry, politics, ethnobotany, and psychopharmacology, and the cultural impact is likely to be profound for decades to come, as it has already. PiHKAL is divided into two parts, the first of which is a fictionalized autobiographical 'novel' - the main fiction is that it is fiction. This first half of the book is The Love Story, about two people named Shura and Alice who fall in love, though one of them is already in love with someone else. This love triangle is a painful ordeal they must go through, and that process unfolds before the reader with grace and great insight into human nature. Shura is a brilliant chemist who has dedicated his career to making psychoactive drugs, in the story they go through many experiences with the psychedelic compounds that Shura has discovered and has made in his lab, all of which have been bioassayed himself. The reader will find themselves going on this journey with them, experiencing what they experienced, both in their hearts and in the psychedelic journeys they have. The second half of PiHKAL is called The Chemical Story, and it contains detailed instructions for, and effects of, the synthesis of 179 psychedelic phenethylamines which were mostly discovered by Shulgin himself. For each substance there is information on its synthesis, suggested effective dosage, duration, and detailed commentary on the subjective effects that were experienced. They work!!

I bought these to replace a very old pair that I originally got at Bed Bath and Beyond like 20+ yrs ago, and the fabric was starting to fray. However, the gel pad inside (at the heel) was still working just fine. Anyway, this new set includes 2 pairs, with a gel pad inside each heel area. Results are truly amazing, I kid you not. You can use them without a moisturizer, but I like to put moisturizer on my heels, then wear these overnight, and in the morning my heels are soft, with no dry skin and NO cracks. I like the fact that these are kind of soft and fuzzy (outside), but I LOVE that they leave your toes exposed and cool (because my heels feel kind of warm from the moisturizer and gel pad). They are of good thickness, and I feel they will last a long time (of course remains to be seen). Highly recommend.

Perfect for cracked heals ♥️

These are thick not cheaply made, has a nice texture inside the heal area which I love. I wear them at night after I apply Aquaphor to my heels & while sleeping they are very comfortable. I slipped these guys on & my heels are healing so much faster no more cracked heels for me. 😃 I highly recommend them.

These socks have saved my heels!

I really love these socks and how they help my heels to feel. I tend to get large cracks on my heels, and wearing these while I sleep during the summer has saved me a lot of pain. One thing this has disappointed me a bit has been some unraveling of the threads around the top and bottom edges. Doesn't seem to matter how I trim them, the next morning when I wake up there is another hanging thread. Maybe it was just a glitch in the finishing of the batch of socks that I received. I would give them a second chance...this certainly isn't a deal breaker.

THESE THINGS SHED BAD!!!!!!!!!

These things shed like you wouldn't believe. They're all over my furniture, my floor, my clothes. I'm finding little pink pieces of sock fluff everywhere and it's annoying. I don't think they did that until after I washed them. So if they don't shed on you right away, just wait, it'll most definitely happen. I returned because I won't where them again.
