"Proud we are to reissue the final piece of Willie Lane's original Cord-Art LP trilogy. It was recorded in various spots throughout Western Mass, in the years following the release of Guitar Army of One. Initially issued in 2016, in an edition of 350, this lovely session disappeared into the fog of the forest before most folks were able to catch it's scent. Now it has re-emerged with re-interpreted cover art by Max Milgram, and sonics we think will please even the most finicky listener. A Pine Tree Shilling's Worth is my personal fave of Willie's first three Cord-Art LPs. It has a hazily unstoppable flow, incorporating elements of American Primitive and Bay Area Ballroom-era string greats in equal measure. Mostly played on electric (although there are some acoustic overdubs), the music manages to be abstract and melodic at the same time, with individual lines splanging off in oddball directions, then reasserting their formal qualities inside a single musical breath. The specific quotes that exist inside the playing are crafty, episodic and display a strange syncretic streak. A nice example of this is the sprawling track, 'New Arrivals,' on the first side. Lane manages to obliquely reference both John Fahey's improvisations for the soundtrack of Michelangelo Antonioni's film, Zabriskie Point (1970), as well as Jerry Garcia's work that was used in place of the bulk of Fahey's music after he and the director had a savage falling out. Willie reconciles their differing approaches to blues architecture with mighty slide playing and sheer dint of will. Rumors are currently swirling that Willie's next Cord-Art release will have vocals, so this three pack of instrumental genius may well be the primary documentation of one phase of this maestro's aesthetic trajectory. Kudos for A Place for Us!
Format: Kindle
A contemporary love story that doesn’t disappoint . We cheer on Jo and Lauren as they tackle the ups and downs, challenges and risks that come with any love affair. But this one is a special test to the two women’s commitment to each other, as society’s laws and opinions are the biggest hurdles they must face. Enmeshed in their current dysfunctional relationships with other people, Jo and Lauren are determined to have a second go at the true love they both had years ago, but that slipped away. Grayhall does a great job at ramping it up in the final chapters for an ending that truly delivers.

Oh! 15 gold stars for this one! This book is so poignant and so very brave and authentic! This book is a permission for us to choose what we will and will not accept in our relationships. This book is more than hope, this book is determination! Pure driven determination to not settle, but to go to the mat to have our life the way we want we want it. I cannot over recommend this book. A Place for us is a beautifully crafted and deeply moving love story about two women--one American, one British--who first meet in their youth and reconnect decades later. At its core, the novel portrays their struggle to navigate restrictive immigration laws in pursuit of a life together. Their journey highlights the urgent need to protect and legalize same-sex marriage, especially at a time when such rights feel increasingly precarious. A timely and relevant read.

RATING : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ SPICE: 🔥🔥 Hot damn Hannah did it again .if you want to read more sapphic romance, this one will absolutely blow your mind! Bryce and Daisy were everything I wanted and more! Fake dating will always be the superior trope, but when it’s forced proximity grumpy x sunshine and the grumpy one is secretly head over heels for the sunshine one, well I’m a damn puddle on the floor! I still can’t decide if I loved Bryce or Daisy more, but I do. Know this might just be my favorite book Hannah has ever written. ☀️ Fake Dating ☀️ Grumpy x Sunshine ☀️ Forced Proximity / Roommates ☀️.Tattoo Artist / Teacher ☀️ So much pining I love Bryce so much. She is a total hard shell but she has such a gooey inside and she showed it so well with Daisy. This whole setup was fantastic, Daisy needs a place to stay so Bryce gets volunteered to give up her spare room. Daisy think Bryce doesn’t like her, but then you get to Bryce’s POV and you realize how down bad she has it for Daisy. Then Daisy proposes the fake date and OMG the tension. The longing. The secret tattoos. I loved every bit of these two figuring each other out. Watching Bryce absolutely melt for Daisy was just so so good. This may be a slow burn, but when it burns…. It’s an inferno. And the tattoo parlor scene is imbedded in my brain forever. Just everything about this made me happy and I will forever love Cherry Peak, these characters and this series! Now bring on Darren!
