Each diaphragm undergoes a rigorous four-stage heat-treating process to ensure exceptional performance. Precision cover stampings provide rigidity and consistency to ACT pressure plates. The 4-pad spring-centered race disc incorporates a spring-center construction to effectively damp torsional vibrations for quieter operation and withstand harsh conditions. ACT spring retainers feature wraparound spring windows and thicker stampings to bolster spring support, reduce stress concentrations, and enhance reliability. Despite the harsher engagement, the 4-pad spring-centered race disc facilitates faster shifting, making it suitable for smaller engines.
