Pseudobombax ellipticum is a striking deciduous tree native to Mexico and Central America, celebrated for its sculptural form and spectacular, brush-like flowers. It develops a thick, bottle-shaped trunk (caudex) that stores water, allowing it to thrive in seasonally dry environments. The smooth, gray-green bark and spreading branches give Pseudobombax ellipticum a distinctive, ornamental appearance even when leafless. Its compound leaves are composed of several glossy, elliptical leaflets that drop during the dry season. In late winter to spring, before the new leaves emerge, the tree bursts into bloom with large, showy flowers featuring long, silky stamens in vivid shades of pink, red, or occasionally white—resembling fireworks or shaving brushes. Adaptable to warm climates and well-draining soil, Pseudobombax ellipticum is a prized specimen for tropical and succulent collectors alike, admired for both its dramatic structure and stunning floral display.

Please Note: Plant will ship bare root with little to no dirt, you will receive a plant similar to the one in the photo. Fragile: leaves may curl, fall off, or bruise during shipping. Will recover with proper light, water, and leaf shedding.

Great book about a Great museum.
Format: Paperback
Great book, I have visited the museum and was only able to finish the first three basement floors... yes it was that intense. The book helps me read up more on my own time at home. I look forward to visiting the museum again, whenever I get lucky and score some tickets on the next lottery time. This book will tide me until then for the next visit to the upper floors this time.
