This Damascus folding pocket knife measures approximately 7 inches open and 4 inches closed with a 3-inch wave-pattern Damascus blade. The handle runs in three sections — blue resin at the top with a white star pin, white resin in the center, and red pakka wood at the base. A Damascus steel bolster sits at the blade joint, matching the blade pattern. A lockback spine lock secures the blade open during use. A hand-engraved leather sheath with a brass snap button and belt loop is included.

This is the only Damascus folding pocket knife at JW Steel Crafts with a three-section American flag handle, Damascus bolster, lockback mechanism, and hand-engraved leather sheath in this configuration.

The History Behind This Blade

Patriotic American flag handle knives became a distinct custom knife tradition after World War II, when makers began incorporating red, white, and blue handle materials as a mark of national pride in handcrafted blades. The Liner Lock folding knife — with its spine-mounted lock releasing from the rear of the handle — became the dominant folding knife mechanism in American pocket knife culture through the 20th century for its strength and reliable one-hand release. Pairing a Damascus blade with a hand engraved leather sheath elevated the folding knife from a working tool into a collector and gift piece. The JW Steel Crafts Damascus flag folder carries that full American custom knife tradition in every forged blade.

Blade Performance

The blade is forged from layered Damascus steel in a wave pattern finish. The layered structure builds consistent edge retention and cutting strength through repeated daily and outdoor use. At 3 inches, the blade handles daily utility tasks, outdoor prep, and detail cutting with clean control. The Linear Lock spine lock engages automatically when the blade opens fully, locking it firmly in position during cutting. Press the spine release at the rear of the handle to disengage the lock and fold the blade safely closed. Full tang construction runs through the entire three-section flag handle and spreads weight evenly from blade tip to handle base.

Handle and Bolster Construction

The handle runs in three distinct sections. Blue resin sits at the top with a white star pin as the primary decorative detail. White resin runs through the center section. Red pakka wood sits at the base. All three sections are fitted flush with no gaps for a clean flag pattern throughout. Pakka wood resists moisture and holds its surface finish through daily carry and outdoor use. The Damascus steel bolster at the blade joint is forged from the same layered steel as the blade, carrying a matching wave pattern surface and adding structural strength at the pivot.

Hand Engraved Leather Sheath

The dark brown leather sheath features a hand-tooled geometric engraved pattern across the full front face. A brass snap button secures the knife during carry. A belt loop on the rear allows secure waist carry during outdoor and field use. The JW SteelCrafts stamp is embossed on the sheath face for a clean presentation finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this knife different from other Damascus flag handle knives at JW Steel Crafts?

This is the only Damascus folding knife in the store with a flag handle — all other flag handle listings are fixed blades. The three-section blue resin, white resin, and red pakka wood handle with Damascus bolster and lockback mechanism exists nowhere else in the store.

What is a lockback mechanism?

A spine-mounted lock bar snaps behind the blade tang when fully open, locking it firmly in position during cutting. Press the spine release at the rear of the handle to fold the blade safely closed.

What is the Damascus bolster on this knife?

The bolster is forged from the same layered Damascus steel as the blade. It sits at the blade joint, carries a matching wave-pattern surface, and adds structural strength at the pivot point.

What are the three handle sections made from?

Blue resin at the top with a star pin, white resin in the center, and red pakka wood at the base all three fitted flush for a clean American flag pattern throughout.

Is the hand-engraved leather sheath included?

Yes. The dark brown hand-engraved leather sheath with a brass snap button and belt loop is included for safe carry and storage.

Is this knife suitable as a gift?

Yes. The Damascus blade, three-section flag handle, Damascus bolster, and hand-engraved leather sheath make this a strong gift for veterans, collectors, Father's Day, and patriotic knife enthusiasts.

Is this knife legal to carry?

Folding knife carry laws vary by country, state, and city. Check your local regulations before carrying outside your home.

Unlocked! 🙏🏼
Format: Paperback
I did not know what to expect with this book; though Ive spent years studying Eastern spiritual traditions and have been incorporating them into my life with more vigor and earnestness in recent times. Masuda Mohamadi is one of those not so frequent surprises; her writing and genuine enthusiasm for the topic of chakras is of the kind that can actively, in real time, spark a new course of action in the reader. The book is truly inspiring and also full of illustrations and pictures that are helpful in grasping concepts and poses. Needless to say, I highly recommend! 🙏🏼

Your one-stop shop for chakra awareness - perfectly concise and at the same time, expansive.
Format: Paperback
The author has an incredible talent and magically manages to put into words (and pictures) the key elements of our chakra system, why they matter, the force of good they can create, and more. She invites us into a practice and bank of knowledge she's an expert in, and facilitates our own discovery at a next level, no matter where we're starting from. Highly recommend this as your key source for knowledge in this area. SO useful and user-friendly!

A very good book that could use some corrective editing.
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
I like the book because it’s clearly written and easy to follow. The photos are clear and purposeful. Most of the info is very on-point. I can’t give the book 5 stars because of one glaring annoyance. The author refers to the Sanskrit names of the chakras, which I really appreciate. She also names most of the yoga asanas (poses/postures) by the English translation of the original Sanskrit names. For some reason, she refers to Downward Facing Dog (Sanskrit: Adho Mukha Svanasana) as “Triangle Pose”. Triangle Pose (Sanskrit: Trikonasana) is actually a completely different asana. I don’t get why she would teach such a well known asana by an incorrect name. I wouldn’t discourage people from the book over that. I think there is still a lot of good info to be read.

Powerful Tool for Personal Development
Format: Paperback
Masuda Mohamadi’s “Unlock the Power of Your Chakras” provides a clear and accessible overview of the chakra system that communicates esoteric ideas in a simple and practical manner. I love the layout of this book. It is designed for readers who want to understand what chakras are, but it's also very useful to anyone who is already familiar and wants to deepen their practice. It includes exercises to facilitate a deeper awareness of the energy of the chakras in one’s body. This framework allows the reader to engage with chakras in a powerful and personalized manner to address areas of imbalance in the body and build a practice toward manifesting improvements in one’s life. In addition to this deep dive into each of the chakras, chapters explore practices, warm-ups, and beautiful meditations that ground yoga philosophy into daily life and ritual. I highly recommend this book as a tool for personal growth, to help teachers and students develop a practice using the chakra system, and for anyone looking for an opportunity to connect to what they are feeling in their body and mind and express it through yoga practice, meditations, and journaling.

A brilliant reference
Format: Paperback
If you are like me, and interested in this field, then I recommend you also get the The Energy Medicine Kit, which has a DVD where she demonstrates various energy routines, and an easy to follow five minute daily routine. This is now part of my daily routine. Everyone should have a daily routine for moving energy. The book and the kit are stand alone products. I highly recommend both to everyone. I got the energy medicine kit first, and I am glad I did because there is nothing quite like seeing the exercises demonstrated, and I know I would not be doing these techniques properly if I did not first see them shown. The mutimedia is format is easier to follow and use. The book also contains the five minute routine, and is more encyclopedic. If you are not already an advanced healer I recommend getting the kit first, because you are more likely to be able to follow a visual demonstration correctly. You are also less likely to understand the concept of energy testing without a visual demonstration which is like watching a magic show. There is so much content in this book, which is based on the twin concepts of touch for healing and kinesiology (energy testing) in which she tests your muscle resistance, and then treats. Donna can see energy, but you can achieve the same thing with energy testing. In this book, you learn about opening the chakras, and celtic weave, figure eights, strange flows, the aura, eye movement exercises, neurovasculars or fight or flight response and many other things. If you have health challenges, you owe it to yourself to do everything you can to resolve them. Seek professional help, go see an energy healer to resolve the issues, and by all means use the techniques in this book, and the energy kit. If you are like me you will be very pleased with this product. If you are unsure about which one to buy first, get the energy medicine kit. I wonder if this review was helpful.
