Gaetano Donizetti's la Figlia del Reggimento (or, more appropriately, la Fille du Regiment, in French, the work being extremely popular in 19th century France despite a poor premiere) is now firmly lodged in the standard repertoire of many of the world's great houses, giving as it does the work's tenor protagonist the opportunity for audience acclaim or derision with it famous, early High-C filled aria, besides many other beautiful moments in this light-hearted affair. the star of note on this 1960 Milan live recording is Anna Moffo, but not to be overlooked is the fine if now obscure tenor Giuseppe Campora.

This book is a must read for anyone trying to understand the role of the US in trade.
Format: Hardcover
Hudson explains US monetary policy from the pre-WWI era to the present day and the points at which it goes through significant changes. He covers the goals of the US at the time, the perspectives of the victims and opponents of these policies and the reasons for changes in monetary policy. I had already read the previous edition but he updates this book to include how the China and Russia are building effective resistance to the machinations of the world bank, IMF, and to the hegemony of the dollar zone in general. Essential reading!
