The Meraki Antenna Dipole is a compact, high-value solution crafted for indoor wireless projects where installation simplicity, ceiling placement, and predictable coverage matter most. Designed to work with Meraki access points, this dipole antenna excels in low-ceiling environments where wall penetration is either limited or undesirable, and extended reach is required. It’s ideally suited for low-density deployments such as schools, hotels, conference centers, and other hospitality or education spaces that seek dependable basic connectivity without overbuilding the network. In these best‑effort deployments, APs are often mounted in ceilings to minimize visual impact, reduce interference, and deliver clean, consistent performance across rooms and corridors. If your goal is an affordable, unobtrusive way to provide solid baseline wireless service in indoor spaces, the Meraki Antenna Dipole delivers reliable coverage with straightforward installation and management through the Meraki dashboard.

  • Optimized for ceiling-based, low-density deployments: This dipole antenna is purpose-built to maximize coverage in spaces with lower ceilings and limited wall penetration. By directing radio energy more efficiently upward and outward, it helps reduce dead zones in classrooms, hotel corridors, lobbies, and similar interiors. The result is consistent signal strength where occupants are most likely to work, study, or stay, delivering dependable, basic connectivity for everyday tasks such as email, light browsing, and standard collaboration tools without the complexity or expense of high‑density gear.
  • Simple integration with Meraki AP ecosystems: Engineered to complement Meraki MR access points, the antenna supports straightforward pairing within the Meraki ecosystem. Deployment is streamlined for IT teams familiar with Meraki’s cloud-managed approach, allowing administrators to extend coverage and fine‑tune signal performance directly from the Meraki dashboard. This seamless integration reduces deployment time, simplifies inventory, and keeps management centralized for consistent policy enforcement and monitoring across locations.
  • Discrete, durable indoor design: The antenna’s compact form factor is designed to blend with interior spaces while remaining robust in daily use. Its discreet appearance helps preserve the aesthetic of guest rooms, classrooms, and public areas, while contributing to a tidy, professional network installation. Built for long-term operation in indoor environments, the dipole is resistant to typical office wear and common indoor conditions, supporting stable performance over time with minimal maintenance.
  • Cost-conscious solution for education and hospitality sectors: In settings where budget constraints meet the need for reliable baseline connectivity, the Meraki Antenna Dipole delivers a cost-effective option to expand coverage without over-engineering the network. It serves as an economical upgrade path for legacy deployments or spaces undergoing gradual modernization, enabling administrators to scale gradually as needs evolve while keeping total cost of ownership in check.
  • Supports basic, best‑effort connectivity with extended reach: The dipole design emphasizes dependable, straightforward performance suitable for typical office, classroom, and guest‑area activities. It provides extended reach compared to smaller internal antennas, improving connectivity at room edges and hallways while preserving simplicity and ease of management. This makes it an attractive choice for facilities aiming to deliver reliable, everyday wireless access without the complexity of high‑performing, multi‑antenna configurations.

How to install Meraki Antenna

Install the Meraki Antenna Dipole with compatible Meraki APs by following these general guidelines to ensure optimal coverage and reliability in indoor spaces:

  • Plan your layout: Map ceiling locations to maximize coverage in target areas such as classrooms, lobby corridors, or guest rooms. Visualize signal reach against furniture, partitions, and high‑traffic zones to minimize interference and maximize usable space for devices.
  • Prepare the AP and mounting: Ensure the Meraki AP is powered and accessible from the Meraki dashboard. Identify a suitable ceiling or wall location that aligns with your coverage goals and complies with local safety and mounting guidelines. Confirm that the AP supports external antenna attachments if required by your deployment.
  • Attach the antenna securely: Connect the Meraki Dipole antenna to the AP per the manufacturer’s installation instructions for your specific MR model. Ensure all connectors are snug and locked as recommended by Meraki to maintain stable signal integrity and prevent accidental disconnections.
  • Position for optimal coverage: Align the antenna in a way that directs the majority of the signal toward the primary user areas while minimizing adjacent room interference. In many cases, mounting toward central corridors or classroom rows provides more uniform coverage across spaces with high occupant density.
  • Test and adjust: Use the Meraki dashboard to monitor signal strength, noise levels, and client distribution after installation. If certain zones show weak performance, adjust antenna orientation or relocate the AP within safe, compliant limits to improve coverage without introducing new interference.
  • Document and monitor: Record mounting locations, antenna models, and AP associations in your network documentation. Leverage Meraki’s analytics and guest access tools to verify ongoing performance, adjust coverage as rooms are reconfigured, and maintain an efficient, scalable deployment over time.

Sixty Bucks? Yep. And I'd buy another one.
Color: silver
OK, I had my doubts. Yes, the iLevel2 is highly-reviewed. And yes, it's really (really) important to have your laptop screen at eye level (get it? iLevel?) But spending 60 dollars on an adjustable laptop stand? Couldn't I just pile up a couple of old books for free? Well, as a contractor once told me when I made a really dumb suggestion, "You COULD do it that way..." The iLevel2's main virtue is that the angle/height adjustment knob is rock-solid, as is the platform. It's just an extremely well-made, solid product. And the adjustment knob, which is on a left-right track on the front of the product, allows you to dial in your laptop's screen height to the millimeter. Result: a totally-custom, ergonomically-friendly setup. Love it.

Underwhelming
Color: silver
Too much hype. It just holds the laptop. Buy something cheaper. The slide adjuster isn’t useful to me at all.

Why are people trying to type on a laptop stand?
Color: silver
So the overwhelmingly negative reviews you'll notice for this product specifically surround the "bounciness" of this stand when someone is typing on it—however what is confusing to me is how people are purchasing a laptop stand in theory to optimize their ergonomics, yet also stretching their arms out and elevating them to type on said laptop once it's raised. the point of a laptop riser/stand is to elevate the screen so that you can maintain a more natural posture. One would assume you have an external keyboard to use in conjunction with your laptop once you place it on a RISER, because the idea is to elevate your laptop as a SCREEN and then have a level/flat surface to type on, thereby alleviating any awkward hunching or neck strain looking down or anywhere not naturally eye-level. as it is, it's a perfectly functional and elegant laptop riser. I don't find myself wanting to adjust the height often if ever, but in the one or two instances I experimented with it, found no mechanical issues. It looks nice with Apple hardware and allows me to have my laptop's screen flush with the bottom edge of my additional external monitor, so it serves my purposes well. for people complaining about how it bounces when they type on it ... STOP typing on your laptop's keyboard when you have it elevated on a riser! this defeats the purpose and probably also makes your arms tired—buy an external keyboard!

Nice Valet tray with Qi standard charger USB-C
Color: Best Dad-brown
I like this valet tray. I'm not fond of the message in the main compartment of the valet tray. It means they expect someone to buy it for their dad. I bought it for myself. What I like is the Qi standard compatibility of the wireless charger. It has many advantages over the wireless chargers that are sold. Most are round circles, so your phone teeters on the odd design. Some want to attach to my phone with some magnetic gimmickry. This valet tray takes a different approach. It has a built-in Qi standard wireless charger that's in a rectangular compartment. The USB-C wire that is USB-C at both ends is faster; that's the advantage of USB-C. It carries more power and higher data speed. But the Qi standard disables charging when the phone is at 100%. This avoids overcharging. It's an excellent design. The charging port is built-in to the side of the valet tray. Just the placement of the indicator light is under the phone. A fully charged phone doesn't trigger charging. It avoids overcharging. There is drawback the shallow USB port doesn't allow proper seating of USB C plugs this puts a lot of weight on a barely plugged wire.
