A recent addition to the inventory, this excellent violin by Heinrich Theodore Heberlein (Markneukirchen, Germany, dated 1909) has a wonderfully even and clear tone, and phenomenal projection. Recently fitted with a new bridge and soundpost paired with Thomastik Infeld Vision strings, this powerful instrument is available now to view and try at the office in Dublin.
Heinrich Theodore Heberlein is the most famous member of this family of makers, and one of the best Markneukirchen luthiers of the era. He studied with his father, Carl August Heberlein, then moved to Leipzig to work for Ludwig Bausch and finally became the pupil of August Riechers in Hanover. In 1863 he established his own independent workshop, where he worked until retiring in 1897. He also taught at the Markneukirchen violin making school.
