With their famously tight playing thus sharpened to a razor's edge from touring, the band entered the studio for the long-awaited follow up to their beloved comeback record bigger and more intentional than ever, and armed with lyrics balancing grit and uplift, weight and light.
The band pushed each other creatively. Recording felt less like experimentation and more like execution. Every part had to earn its place. The songs were written to hit hard live - that energy guided everything. "We trust the groove," remarks Jesse. "That's always been our compass."
