Holybro Microhard V2: The Long-Distance Relationship That Actually Works

Stop trying to yell at your drone from 10km away. It can't hear you, and the neighbours are getting worried. The Holybro Microhard V2 is the wireless serial link for people who take 'long range' literally. Whether you're building a fleet of autonomous mowers or a long-range survey wing, this radio provides the kind of robust connectivity that makes your standard WiFi look like a tin can on a string. Now with 100% more USB-C, because it's the 2020s and we have standards.

Why You Want It

If you enjoy losing signal the moment a single tree gets between you and your craft, this isn't for you. But if you want a frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) link that laughs at interference, you’re in the right place. The V2 design has finally killed off the need for those annoying UART-to-USB adapters. We've integrated the converter and added a physical switch to change modes, because clicking a button is objectively better than faffing with jumpers while your field-base blows away in the British drizzle.

Specs

  • Frequency Range (P900): 902 to 928 MHz (For the Mesh-heads)
  • Frequency Range (P400): 410 to 480 MHz (For the frequency-sensitive types)
  • Transmit Power: 100mW to 1W (Software adjustable; please don't melt your surroundings)
  • Link Rate: Up to 276 kbps (P900) / 345 kbps (P400)
  • Voltage Input: DC7~35V via XT30 (A wide range for people who can't decide on a battery)
  • Operating Modes: Mesh (P900 only), Point-to-Point, Point-to-Multipoint
  • Antenna Gain: 5dBi (Included, because we aren't monsters)
  • Weight: 51g without antenna (Lighter than your sense of regret after a crash)

In the Box

  • 1x (or 2x) Microhard P900/P400 V2 Radio (Depending on how many friends you have)
  • Antenna(s) (The pointy bits)
  • 1x XT30 to XT60 Power Cable (Connect-y bits)
  • 1x JST-GH 6P to 6P Cable (For your flight controller)
  • 1x USB Type-C Cable (The one you'll inevitably lose)

Compatibility

Works natively with the TELEM port on most flight controllers (Pixhawk, Cube, Durandal). Configurable via AT commands or the PicoConfig app. If you can't figure out how to plug a JST-GH connector in, maybe stick to paper planes.

Highlights

  • Integrated USB-to-UART: No more searching for that one specific dongle in the bottom of your flight bag.
  • True Mesh Operation: (P900 Only) Self-healing, auto-routing networks. It's like the internet, but specifically for your robots.
  • RSSI LEDs: Three-stage visual confirmation that you still have a signal. Green is good, red means you're about to have a long walk.
  • XT30 Power Port: High voltage BEC onboard, because regulated power is a luxury we all deserve.

Notes

The P900 supports Mesh; the P400 does not. Choose your frequency based on your local laws, unless you enjoy unannounced visits from regulatory bodies. Configuration is done via the Data port or USB-C. Don't forget to flip the mode switch before you start shouting at the screen.

Disclaimer

Check your local RF laws. We provide the hardware; you provide the legality. Don't blame us if the authorities come knocking.

I was delighted with the quality and color
Size: X-Small, Color: Lilac
This is a super cute, and frankly, fairly high fashion little hoodie. The price was great for what it is. Really nice soft (terry?) inside. Double fabric hood. Really soft. It has an oversized cut which makes it easy to get on and off, but is just the right length to make the sizing look great and intentional - it doesn't look too big. I love the color. It's high quality, and I didn't notice any shrinkage. Even the hood is cut in a chic way. Not your average kids' hoodie.

Size up
Size: Small, Color: Black
Overall a good hoodie. Thin-ish to medium weight, but don’t expect heavy weight. It’s soft but of course since it’s on more on the thin side it loses its softness quick but for the price it’s good. It’s good to cricut heat transfer on.
