Fully compostable or biodegradable high performance tree guards, 60cm or 1.2m tall. Guards are essential for any planting scheme in areas where there are deer or rabbits, and also give developing plants support and shelter. The 1.2m size is appropriate for protecting from most deer species, and the 60cm size proof against voles and rabbits.
Not for use for fruit trees or larger trees, which will need a stake and tie , but ideal for woodland planting of plants up to 150cm height.
These tree guards are made in Hull from FSC certified pine offcuts. Even the cable ties are biodegradable, so the guards and stakes can just be left in place to break down into water, CO2 and biomass. This means no removal and recovery, which saving more than compensates for their higher initial cost compared to plastic guards.
Each guard comes with a fixing stake included, which should be positioned downwind from the plant.
