The 2008 formula board, named F162, has a wider and lower nose.
This gives it more surface area on the water without making the board itself longer.
This way it becomes faster over chop and thus maintains planing because it does not lose as much speed.
The nose is also much thinner and therefore also lighter.

The F162 has also become wider at the rear compared to last year's model.
This allows it to take better height and a deeper blur.
