After the bloody Kejari tournament, Oraya's life has been reduced to ashes. Imprisoned in her own kingdom, she mourns the death of the only family she's ever known and clings to one certainty: she can't trust anyone--especially Raihn, after his cruel betrayal.
The House of Night is surrounded by enemies. The nobles refuse to accept Raihn as king--a turned vampire and former slave. And the House of Blood has sunk its claws into the realm, threatening to bleed it dry from within. When Raihn offers her an alliance, Oraya realizes it's her only chance to claim the throne and take revenge on the one she once called an ally.
