Story Behind the Art: Kazak rugs are celebrated for their bold designs, exceptional durability, and rich, naturally dyed colors. Originating from tribal weavers in the Caucasus Mountains—between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea—these rugs are known for their strong geometric layouts and tribal motifs. Traditional patterns often include medallions, rosettes, hooked polygons, diamonds, and crosses, along with stylized depictions of animals, birds, trees, and people. Today, rugs woven in Azerbaijan, Iran, or regions near the Caucasus are known as *Caucasian Kazaks*, while those produced in Afghanistan follow the *Afghan Kazak* tradition. In recent years, Pakistan has also become a leading center for crafting high-quality Kazak rugs, continuing the legacy of this timeless and culturally rich weaving style.
