Assailly is een familiaal champagnehuis met diepe wortels in Avize, hart van de Côte des Blancs. Sinds 1899 cultiveert de familie met toewijding tien hectare grand cru-wijngaarden, volledig beplant met chardonnay. Dankzij de zuidelijke expositie en kalkrijke ondergrond leveren de druiven hier champagnes van grote zuiverheid, finesse en expressie.

Deze blanc de blancs wordt gemaakt zonder toegevoegde suikers (brut nature), wat zorgt voor een zuivere, droge en rechtlijnige stijl. De fijne pareling schittert al in het glas nog voor de eerste slok, en ondersteunt de subtiele aroma’s van witte bloemen, citrus en een vleug krijtmineraliteit. De wijn is strak maar verfijnd, met een verkwikkende frisheid en een lange, elegante afdronk.

De druiven zijn afkomstig van grand cru-percelen in Avize, één van de meest gewaardeerde terroirs voor chardonnay in de Champagne. Hier zorgt de kalksteenbodem voor spanning en precisie, die deze cuvée zijn karakter en diepgang geeft.

Perfect als aperitief in goed gezelschap met fijne hapjes of een oester natuur.

I am diabetic, though, and the recommendation is to wear socks that don't constrict at any point. These have a tight band around the opening that while it is not uncomfortable on, leaves a mark when I take them off. So far it's been ok, but if you have any kind of swelling in your feet or ankles these would probably not be the best. My foot measures size 8 and I wear size 9 Brooks running shoes. The socks fit me just right but based on the size of the opening and the overall length, I wouldn't think they would fit anyone more than a size larger. Overall well made and perform well as you would expect from this brand.

If I had not ordered a second divider (which did include the instructions) I would have had a much harder time figuring out which pieces were which and how to put them together.
