Bijzonderheden Fagus sylvatica
Een groene haag met glimmend blad, in het najaar krijgt hij een geelbruine herfstkleur. De haag groeit het best op een goed doorlatende humusrijke grond en mag niet te nat staan. Het dorre blad blijft na de herftsverkleuring aan de takken hangen en zorgt hierdoor ook in de winter voor privacy en structuur. Tweemaal snoeien heeft de voorkeur, aangezien de haag mooier vol blijft. Verdraagt geen gesloten verharding.
