Vigna Pedale is Nero di Troia met klasse: diep robijnrood met een granaatrode zweem, veel sap en een elegante, kruidige lengte. Je proeft rijpe kersen en bessen, subtiele tabak en een mooie balsamieke toon, allemaal in een riserva die kracht en verfijning knap in balans brengt.

Wijngaarden en regio

Italië • Puglia • Castel del Monte DOCG • Contrada Pedale.
De wijngaarden liggen op 400 tot 500 meter hoogte op kalkrijke klei. De frisheid van de hoogte en de mediterrane zon zorgen samen voor geconcentreerd fruit met levendige zuren. De stokken staan aan cordon speronato met ongeveer 4.500 planten per hectare, gericht op rijpheid en aromatische precisie.

Vinificatie en rijping

De pluk start laat in het seizoen, van eind oktober tot begin november, zodat Nero di Troia volledig rijpt. Na een lange inweking vergist de wijn op gecontroleerde temperatuur. Vervolgens rijpt hij 8 maanden in roestvrij staal voor fruitzuiverheid en 12 maanden in grote eiken vaten. Dat grote hout geeft zuurstof en textuur zonder het fruit te overstemmen. Met ongeveer 13% alcohol blijft de stijl krachtig maar nooit zwaar.

Druivensamenstelling

Nero di Troia 100%. Dit Pugliese ras geeft donkere kersen en bessen, een nobele tanninestructuur en een frisse, hartige ondertoon die aan tafel echt tot zijn recht komt.

Proefnotities en serveertips

Diep robijnrood met een granaatrode schakering. In de geur kleine rode en zwarte vruchten, lichte houttonen, een vleugje tabak en geroosterde specerijen. De smaak is vol en soepel, met rijpe tannines, een hint van rode vruchtconfituur en een lange, perfect uitgebalanceerde afdronk. Schenk op 16 tot 18 graden bij gegrild rood vlees, gebraad, rijpe harde kazen en fijne Italiaanse vleeswaren.

Best out of all other heat tapes!

It is extremely weird how excited I became when trying this tape out for the first time. I can't speak for all of the blue heat tapes but this one in particular is all sorts of great to use. Thicker, easier to tear, stronger adhesive than the brown and clear heat tapes I've tried. I started with the clear because I was afraid of the other colored tapes leaving marks on my substrates. The clear tape was a good amount of thickness and easy to tear and use but the adhesion was terrible. I would wrap it around the rim of tumblers, fold it down into the inside of the tumbler and it would pop right back up. Forget using it on any fabrics, did not hold sublimation sheets down to totes, shirts, mousepads, at all. The brown tape I used had better adhesion but was thin and stretchy? floppy? Didn't know this was even an annoying thing until I moved on to this blue tape and was just blown away. Still blows me away how it was cheaper than the other two kind but is the thickest and best gripping of them all. So far it does not leave any marks on any of my items. I'm so impressed by this tape that I still NOTICE it everytime it's tearing off perfectly or holding my things together so well.
