Sergio Molino is een hele bekende naam in de Piemontese wijnwereld en ver daarbuiten. Als geniale maar timide wijnmaker blijft hij echter graag op de achtergrond en zal hij uiterlijk niet snel herkend worden. Sergio is oenoloog voor een groot aantal wijnhuizen in Piemonte, andere delen van Italië en zelfs in Frankrijk. Zijn deskundigheid en passie voor het wijn maken heeft hem doen besluiten de 2,5 hectare wijngaard in de cru Bricco Rocca in La Morra, die sinds mensenheugenis in familiebezit is, weer zelf te gaan bottelen. Onder de naam E.Molino (de E staat voor Ernesto en is aldus een eerbetoon aan zijn vader die zo heette) bottelt Sergio zo'n 6 duizend flessen per jaar onderverdeeld in een Barbera Superiore, een Nebbiolo en een Barolo en in goede jaren een Barolo Riserva.Sergio heeft een bijna obsessieve manier van wijn maken waarbij hij elk aspect op het land en in de wijnkelder wil begrijpen en zo mogelijk beheersen. Niet voor niets bevindt zich naast zijn wijngaard in Annunziata, exact gelegen tussen Barolo, Castiglione Falletto en La Morra op de Cru Bricco Rocca, een laboratorium waar hij bacteriën en enzymen bestudeert en waar hij nieuwe wijnstok klonen opvoedt.
Zijn uiteindelijke doel is om alle intrinsieke kenmerken van de druif over te brengen in het glas en zo min mogelijk kwaliteit te verliezen tijdens de vinificatie- en verouderingsfasen. Dat klink heel cliché maar het behelst een scala aan gevolgen; de beheersing van rijpheid, methoden, tijdstip en tijd van druiventransport, sorteren en persen van de druiven. Bij het wijn maken zelf betekent het het overwinnen van duizend kritieke momenten, het minimaliseren of juist blootstellen aan oxidatie, type rijpingsmateriaal, duur van de rijping, manier van klaren en eventueel filteren, afzonderlijke vinificaties binnen dezelfde wijngaard afhankelijk van ligging.
Sergio is een innemende, op andere momenten onmogelijke, man die je mee de wijngaard in neemt en dan urenlang kan praten over de wijn en het wijn maken zelf en aan de andere kant is hij soms dagenlang onbereikbaar, zelfs als je hem hard nodig hebt voor een aanstaand verscheping van wijn. Het zal de geest van het genie zijn, de nukken van de meester. Gelukkig zijn ze er nog, de wijnmakers die Barolo groot hebben gemaakt en die ons voorzien van alle plezier en genot wat de boventoon voert wanneer we een goed glas drinken. Sergio is er zo een!

Great tool!

Love this interactive toy! I purchased this for our 4 month old husky, looking for something to keep her entertained, and I was not let down! In the beginning, it took her a few good minutes to figure it out, and about a week later, she gets it done in about 2 minutes. If you've never had a husky, let me tell you, these dogs are very inquisitive! But due to her being involved with this, our older pit is now getting in on the fun! This is huge because our pit isn't amused by much! Overall, it's durable enough to withstand puppy chewing, and being carried around. It's also super easy to wipe clean as it's some sort of durable, perhaps reinforced layers of plastic. Even though the puppy figured it out, it still seems to excite her, and considering it keeps both dogs entertained and active mentally, I would absolutely recommend this to any dog owner!

My rabbit loves playing with this, and of course getting treats!

My bunny absolutely loves the TRIXIE Activity Around Puzzle Feeder! It keeps her engaged and mentally stimulated for long periods, making it a great source of fun not just for rabbits, but for cats and small dogs too. He was confused, I was amused!

This toy was quite well made, the materials are solid and once assembled, its very sturdy! Super easy to put together too. It comes with two kinds of lids for the test tubes, three little holes (intermediate/ difficult) and one big hole (beginner/easy). So the actual toy was really nice.
There was only one problem...for some inexplicable reason...my dog (3 yr/ 20lb/ shorkie) was afraid of it! He's used lots of puzzle / game toys in the past, but for some reason this one weirded him out.
No matter what I did, I couldn't get him to even try moving the test tubes. The farthest I got was having him eat a treat off the edge of a test tube once or twice (hence the video, there's a piece of chicken sitting on the top). Mostly he would just growl at the toy or eye it suspiciously, and then run away. I would describe his overall attitude as agitated skepticism with a hint of annoyance...specifically toward me! (As if saying "what the heck is this thing??")
I will say the customer service was pretty good. And I definitely got some personal entertainment watching my dog run around and growl at the toy that was just sitting there. (:

Can't beat the price if you have smaller dogs

This is my 2nd one, which was bought for my mom's dogs. They absolutely love it when they come to my house. I live that they have to get their nose off the floor to figure it out and that there are more than 1 tube that they have to flip (think about). My only thumbs down isn't a big deal but would be the hard base. The treats fling off this base and can end up anywhere in the room. I think if it wasn't so hard, they wouldn't have to walk away from the activity or have to fight over who get the "reward" (It's usually the other dog waiting to chase where they fly off to). It doesn't flip over unless they run into it which doesn't happen often, although our dogs are all under 15 lbs. Imnsure if a bigger dog were to use this, it wouldn't stand up well and may break. It was easy to put together, and functions very well. Our dogs think this is the most fun toy out of all the interactive togs we have (which is A LOT).
