Wijnhuis Paul Cluver behoort al jaren tot de top in Zuid-Afrika. De eerste wijngaarden werden aangeplant in het koele gebied Elgin. Het is een klein gebied in het district overberg. Vroeger was dit een appelstreek, maar inmiddels zijn de meeste boeren overgestapt op de wijnteelt. Dankzij de ligging het koele gebied, nabij zee, zijn de wijnen opmerkelijk fris en hebben ze de juiste dosis spanning. Het familiebedrijf is trots op een pionier te zijn geweest in deze appellatie. Paul Cluver bezit op dit moment 14 hectare waar Chardonnay staat aangeplant. De wijnstokken variëren in leeftijd van 4 tot 34 jaar. De druiven worden vroeg in de morgen met de hand geplukt, wanneer ze optimaal rijp zijn. Deze Village Chardonnay is een blend van verschillende componenten van Chardonnay druiven. De wijn is gedeeltelijk in de tank gefermenteerd en deels in eikenhouten vaten. Tot slot blijft een deel van de wijn 3 maanden op de droesem en de rest 6 maanden. Na het proeven en blenden van de wijn wordt na goedkeuring de wijn gebotteld.De geur en smaak van Paul Cluver Village Chardonnay
Met een prachtige stralende kleur verschijnt de Village Chardonnay van Paul Cluver in het glas. Bij het inschenken wordt de expressieve neus direct duidelijk. Aroma’s van citrus, groene appel en witte perzik komen duidelijk naar voren. Dit wordt aangevuld met lichte houttonen dankzij de gedeeltelijke fermentatie op hout. In de smaak komen ook deze tonen naar voren, met frisse zuren en een lange afdronk met een fijne mineraliteit.Shipping Notes

Works but will Dry Out Your Skin

I am a swim instructor at an outdoor pool and this stuff DOES work. I can apply it at the beginning of a 5 hour shift and while I have experienced light tanning it has protected against burning completely without reapplication.
The white cast is significant though I don't mind it aesthetically, I know its there for protection . It does rub off on things though so consider yourself warned.
Major Con: it is incredibly drying, and the soap needed to scrub it off is A LOT. That coupled with chlorine is a lot for my skin . Still on my sunscreen journey.

I couldn’t put this book down!!

I couldn’t put this book down! My daughter & I stayed in a bed-n- breakfast in Lochcarran on our trip to Scotland right before the COVID pandemic. Not only is the story a fun cozy, whodunnit, but I could visualize the geography while reading. I love the Scottish Highlands & Dee describes them perfectly in this book. Can’t wait to read the next book..it should arrive today!!

Pronunciation matters, and I can't finish this book.
Format: Audiobook
I listen almost exclusively to books set in Scotland & Ireland, so I'm very familiar with the accents and find them incredibly charming. That said, the name pronunciation really irritated me. The main character is Ally, but they are not pronouncing it to rhyme with Sally. It sounds more like they are separating it into two words- All E. After investing hours into the audiobook and trying to not let it bother me, they introduce an American character, Mamie, which should rhyme with "maybe", but NO- they call her Mommy! It is very confusing- I kept thinking a new character was introduced who was a parent. Nope. I give up. I don't think I can finish listening to this. I feel like I'm being pranked.
