MWC NATO Chronograph – Stainless Steel (Ronda 5040.D Movement)

A Rugged Professional Chronograph with Dual Time Zone Tracking and, Tritium/GTLS Tubes and 200m Water Resistance

Built for the aviation applications and tough enough for any terrain, the MWC NATO chronograph in stainless steel was developed to meet the demanding needs of military aircrews, commercial pilots, and general aviation professionals. While based on the proven specifications used by other NATO chronograph manufacturers, this model brings several smart upgrades that improve functionality, legibility, and real-world practicality.

This model uniquely blends new and traditional technology, retaining all the popular features of our conventional G10 Luminova models while incorporating cutting-edge self-luminous GTLS tritium vials. The specification of this watch adheres to American Military Specification Number: US MIL-W-46374F.

Key Features:

Superior Night Visibility: The self-luminous system ensures exceptional readability at night. This model has a distinctive face layout, with the hour and minute hands each containing a brightly glowing vial of Tritium gas. The 12 o'clock position features an orange tube to assist with orientation if the watch is off the wrist, the other tubes are green. The vials contain less than the personal limit of 25 millicuries of radioactive gas, complying with U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations (10 CFR 30.15).

Tritium GTLS Tubes: These military-grade watches are the most readable in low light or total darkness, thanks to the self-activated light source, which is up to 100 times brighter than traditional luminous paint. These light-emitting tubes require no battery power, charging, or maintenance, and have a life expectancy of at least 10 years.

Superior PVD Plating

The special covert matte black non-reflective PVD finish on this watch is often specified in military contracts for special forces, anti-terrorist units, and covert operations. In the PVD process, the steel itself isn’t black throughout; instead, the color is achieved through a specialized chemical plating technique. This method is far superior to the painted finishes found on lower-quality watches, which tend to fade or wear off easily. The PVD process alters the steel at a molecular level, ensuring long-lasting durability even under heavy use. However, the finish can be damaged if the case is gouged by metal or subjected to severe abrasion against rocks or similar materials.

At the heart of the watch is a high-performance Swiss Ronda 5040.D movement, delivering precise chronograph operation with zero-complication ease. The case measures 45.5mm including the crown, striking a balance between bold presence and wearable proportions.

Dual Time Zone Tracking – No Extra Hand Required

With more and more of our customers needing to track two time zones—whether for international operations, travel, or coordination across regions—we’ve opted for a simplified solution over a traditional GMT hand.

Instead of adding mechanical complexity, we’ve included a 12-hour bezel, allowing effortless time zone offset tracking. This bezel, unlike the more common dive-style “count-up” design, lets you read a second time zone at a glance:

Example:
If you're in Paris and need to track Miami time (6 hours behind), simply rotate the bezel so the 9 o’clock marker aligns with the 3 on the dial. Just like that, you’ve got two time zones on your wrist—no apps, no math, no fuss.

This feature is especially useful now that most divers rely on computers underwater, making the traditional dive bezel less essential. Here, it becomes a highly functional tool for everyday, multi-zone use—without compromising the watch's 20 ATM / 200m / 660ft water resistance or its classic diver-inspired style.

Ronda 5040.D Sub-Dial Functions

Left Sub-Dial (9 o'clock):

  • 30-minute counter: This counter is a subdial located at the 9 o'clock position on the watch face and records up to 30 minutes of elapsed time for the chronograph function.

Bottom Sub-Dial (6 o’clock):

Dual-Function 1/10-Second & 12-Hour Chronograph Counter

For the first 30 seconds after the chronograph is started, this dial functions as a 1/10-second counter, providing high-precision measurement. Once 30 minutes have elapsed, the same sub-dial switches to an hour counter, tracking up to 12 hours of total time.

Right Sub-Dial (3 o’clock):
Small Seconds Display
Displays continuous running seconds for standard timekeeping. This sub-dial runs independently of the chronograph function.

🕹️ Chronograph Controls:

Top pusher (Start/Stop): Starts and stops the chrono.

Bottom pusher (Reset): Resets the chronograph hands to zero (after it’s stopped).

📝 Pro Tip:

If the chrono hands are out of alignment (say, the 1/10th sec hand isn't zeroing properly), you can recalibrate them via the crown pulled out to the second position — each pusher moves a different hand. This means that whereas with many chronographs they need to be booked into a watchmaker to make minor adjustments. This does not apply in the case of this particular model because it is a simple job to find the calibration yourself if it's ever required.

Why Sapphire?

The crystal is one of the most vulnerable parts of any watch—especially in demanding environments. That’s why we’ve equipped this model with a sapphire crystal, known for its exceptional scratch resistance and shatter strength.

In fact, over 90% of cracked crystal incidents we see involve mineral glass. Even hardened mineral simply doesn’t compare. Our sapphire crystals are strengthened through heat treatment to remove stress and double-coated with anti-reflective layers for clear visibility in bright light or at night.

This makes the watch ideal for military and security personnel, police, outdoor adventurers, and anyone who demands real-world reliability. Over 70% of our customers fall into one of these groups, and sapphire crystal is a must for their line of work.

The Bottom Line

The MWC NATO chronograph in stainless steel fuses military-grade durability with modern functionality—making it a versatile and robust timepiece ready for anything. Whether you're piloting, on duty, traveling between time zones, or simply want a watch that does more without overcomplicating things, this chronograph delivers—every time.

The series as a whole so far 5/25
Format: Kindle
I read reviews before going into this book and I don't agree with one of the more harsh ones on the main trigger she had. It is stated clearly in the forward and it wasn't as blase as it was made out to be. It definitely is touched on more and hasn't just been brushed off as the series goes I definitely would recommend reading it. It's a good series just be for-warned I like the series as a whole. The characters are awesome I adore the fmc shes cute and adorable but also a badass. Though there are a bunch of holes for her that I feel like just got left out. The guys are interesting and shout out to yall for not making Gage a dragon. I'm tired of the broody ones who don't wanna talk aboit what they are being Dragons. Ki is my favorite You can definitely tell if is written by 2 different people though because the phrasing just doesn't match up and wouldn't be something people that age says. And it flip flops between them. I feel like there's substance without substance. We are 4 books in and we don't really know much back story on literally anyone more than right under surface deep. There are definitely favorite MMCs which is kind of disappointing since some get shoved to the wayside. Specifically both of the best friends. They're basically useless and it's made obvious as the books go on. As well as all the men are ungodly self deprecating. I enjoy the plot line for the most part like I said I enjoy the series its different and refreshing. I do feel like the series is being dragged out though unfortunately. And the latest cliff hanger was just meh. So hopefully the next book is the last one.

Wow!
Format: Kindle
This book was awesome! Seraphina and her family have moved to a new town. Her family is a bit... odd. She grew up learning how to protect herself from people who might hurt her. Bloodshed is a daily occurrence with her brothers and parents during their practice sessions, and it’s all fun and games unless you need to hide a body. Sera’s family is very close, and she’s been homeschooled most of her life. But in this new town she is going to start regular school as a senior at the local high school. Unfortunately, things at her school aren’t all they seem to be. Or perhaps more than they seem to be. Sera has her own demons to deal with, and she’s terrified her new friends will learn about her weird family and other issues and drop her like a rock. It turns out they have their own secrets as well. This story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to read the next one! This book is well written and well edited. The heroine is spunky and has a great heart and wicked sense of humor.

Great start
Format: Kindle
I loved this book! It's funny but still deals with tough themes, like chronic illness, a serial killer on the loose, and a dash of self-harm. The guys are interesting and distinct, we don't know too much about them yet. It does end on a really terrible cliffhanger but on the bright side the next book is out and I believe the series is complete. I have enjoyed both of these authors separately and this is a great team up!

Fudge!
Format: Kindle
Titles aren’t my strong suit. Sorry not sorry. That ending has me completely frustrated book two isn’t out yet. Just throwing that out there. First thing first, this is a high school book where the lead is under 18. Yea yea she’s about month from being an adult, but I can’t say I would’ve even opened the file if I’d realized. It’s not a smut fest or anything, but there is sexual tension as each party figures out their emotions. That being said, it’s a good book. There are some troubling parts, like how the supes come into their powers at 13, but most of those are dealt with in a way that makes sense. Kian is the exception. His whole arc pisses me off, especially since no one stepped in. Reflecting back on real world situations, ten or so years ago, I can see it happening, but it still makes me sick. Which, I’m sure was the whole damn point. For the most part, Courting Darkness is a fun read. I found myself laughing along with most of the set up. By the time it started getting serious, I’d grown to like the characters enough it held an impact. I’ll be adding book two to my list for when it comes out.

Intriguing
Format: Kindle
An intriguing story that played out slowly while introducing some unique characters. The story became quite fascinating to read as these same characters provided startling revelations to their lives. As their relationships evolve, more drama and mystery is revealed adding to my fascination. I can’t wait to read more.
