Original Hand-Drawn Ruff Animated Art
Swan Princess Ruff Art Rothbart (Sequence 13-6.1).
Hand-drawn ruff pencil art from the classic film, The Swan Princess. This is Sequence 13 Scene 6.1, featuring The Hag playing with her hair and bating her eyelashes as Rothbart explains his plan to deceive the Prince by turning the Hag into Odile.
Ruff art was used in film production, character artists completed the rough (ruff is the spelling used by the artists) sketch of each frame. These ruff were sent to the Clean-Up department where clean lines were done to create the Pencil Art. Then Pencils were Xerox copied onto celluloid paper for painting.
There are many ruff drawings available in this sequence that have not yet been included in the product photos.

Before computer animation, every frame in animation was drawn by hand. 24 frames are required for one second of film. Most full-length, animated films required around one million drawings, including storyboards, backgrounds, pencil drawings and acrylic-painted cels.
All Swan Princess original hand-drawn animated ruff art was created by artists in our Burbank and Hollywood studios in the United States.

You have the option to add a mat to the original Swan Princess production art prior to shipping. Pencils are matted in 4-ply mat board with backer board and placed in a resealable plastic bag - ready to frame, hang and enjoy!
