Just as in second generation stars in the universe we all share carbon, the building block for life on our planet. This unique sculpture by Alastair Gibson and Carbon Art 45 takes a modern engineered look at a human skull.
Engineering methods, materials and selected parts from modern F1 Grand Prix cars are used in the production of this sculpture.

*The artwork shown is a one-of-one original. While no exact replicas are produced, we are able to create further pieces inspired by this work—each individually crafted and entirely unique.
Material: 312 plies / layers of T300 2 x 2 twill 650 gsm carbon fibre 37% 985 resin content. Each ply has 3 million 168 thousand individual fibres per ply.
Cure: 180° for 2 hours at 7 bar pressure.
Hair: Stainless steel collector nuts from the Sahara Force India F1 Team part number. FSTNV 000 023.
Eyebrows: Gold plated conductivity tabs.
Teeth: Low melting point Bismuth alloy.
Ears: Floorstay brackets from the Sahara Force India F1 Team part number. 10J35-0103.
Earring options 01: Set of peek ceramic diff bearing cages from the Honda Racing F1 team.
Earring options 02: Set of gearbox dog rings from the Red Bull racing GP car part number. RB6-GB-010-83-1.
Earring options 03: Set of diff pressure plates from the Red Bull racing GP car part number. RB9-GB-00217-03.
Mounting - Neck detail: Cat flap pivot rod from the Honda Racing F1 team, part number 060-H5-03812 2007 Monaco GP, Jenson Button, down to low pressure hydraulic accumulator from the Red Bull racing GP car part number RBS-HY-01185 on 3 gearbox hubs with peek cage needle rollers from the Red Bull racing GP car part numbers.
