Hij was liefhebber van wijnen uit deze regio, vandaar de link. De wijngaarden zijn gelegen op de rechteroever van de Rhne rivier, in het dorp Saint Genis de Comolas. De bodem bestaat uit zand en grote keien, galets genaamd. De druiven worden manueel geplukt met nadien de gisting en opvoeding op betonnen

Deze Lirac is genoemd naar koning Charles, de eerste. Koning van Engeland, die trouwde met Marie-Henriette, zus van de Franse koning, Lodewijk XIII. Hij was liefhebber van wijnen uit deze regio, vandaar de link. De wijngaarden zijn gelegen op de rechteroever van de Rhône-rivier, in het dorp Saint-Geniès-de-Comolas. De bodem bestaat uit zand en grote keien, ‘galets’ genaamd. De druiven worden manueel geplukt met nadien de gisting en opvoeding op betonnen cuves. Op die manier wordt de fruitexpressie en de typische kenmerken van de terroir goed op de voorgrond gebracht. In de neus hebben we de geurige ‘garrigues’, rijpe framboos en een peper-toets. Bij het degusteren hebben we een volle aanzet met rijp blauw fruit en eucalyptus met een kruidige ondertoon die mooi evenwichtig is.
